Anushka is an actor as well as a producer in Bollywood. She is one of the most highly paid actresses, and has been awarded numerous accolades for her acting. Her father is a colonel-retd. Her mother is also a homemaker. Karnesh Sharma is Anushka's older brother. Karnesh Sharma was a member of the Merchant Navy, and is an entrepreneur in the field of film production. Anushka has completed her studies at Army School Bangalore. She has also earned a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Carmel College located in Bangalore. Anushka has a Masters in Arts (Economics). Anushka did not want to being an actor but rather a reporter or model. Anushka enrolled in Elite Model Management after graduating in the field and received training from Prasad Bidapa, the stylist consultant. In 2017, Anushka made her modelling debut in the Wendell Rodricks' Les Vamps Show at Lakme Fashion Week and was chosen by the designer to be his finale model at spring 2007's Spring Collection. Anushka has since her Lakme Fashion Week modelling debut has been featured in ads for brands such as Fiat Palio Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry Silk & Shine Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka Sharma, along with her modeling career, attended an acting class and started giving auditions for films. Anushka Sharma's acting debut was in the movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with Shah Rukh Khan. In order to prepare for the screen-test, Anushka Sharma took all day. Later she was contracted for three films with the Yash Raj Films label. The film in which she appeared was portrayed as a young lady who was married to a middle age man (the role Shah Rukh Khan is playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. In 2010, Anushka Sharma appeared in the film "Badmash Co together with Shahid Kapoor Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das and Meiyang Chang. It was met with mixed receptions. Anushka played a role in a film named Band Baaja Baaraat, starring Ranveer, where she played an American Punjabi girl from middle class who sets up her wedding planning company. It received a favourable review, and was considered a sleeper and a huge success. Anushka was able to complete the contract for three films with Yash Raj Films.
